beautiful sounds in the alchemy-intro, overall the track is a bit too trance for my taste. room 33 is my favorite in this release - and actually it is the first release that comes through vipultima that i will play ;)

amazing collection of carefully worked tracks. having worked with John before, I have always been amazed by his quality of music - the deep soundscapes touching on emotion at so many levels. Superb tracks, superb EP.

Alchemy - while I know John has a lot of talents, for me it is this lond soundscape style of composition I am most drawn to. And this track is definitely one of the best in this form too. Its intensely mesmerizing. This is an excellent track without a doubt. I can sense some undercurrents to Lifeforms in here, Earthlings. Pleasantly it is so dissimilar that the two can be listened to in succession without there feeling like there is overlap - a continuing soundscape of a journey. Awesome.Organic Machinery - again a very driving soundscape that takes the listner on a journey. There is an intense undercurrent that I love - its very much like Exstatic from Distant Echoes. Again both play perfectly together too. This type of form is almost like the resonance of my DNA, so I just hum like a tuning fork in the empty universe listening to these types of tracks. Love it.Room 33 didnt really take me anywhere. I dont get on too well with dark ambient scapes. I was avidly waiting for this to get moving.Appearing Lands - I liked this. This felt more like Eno to me which I do like some of. A nice outro for sure. Personally I wouLd have liked Room 33 to have continued the journey from tracks 1 and 2, to then drop into this nice outro.I love the set though and I do think it all works well together.Nick.
